The Washington Football Team has become the inaugural NFL franchise to collaborate with the American Gaming Association (AGA) for its responsible sports betting campaign.

The public service campaign by AGA is titled “Bet Responsibly: Have A Game Plan.”

On Monday, the officials made an announcement about the partnership, which will involve various activities within the stadium.

AGA messaging for WFT games

In addition to messaging at FedExField, the partnership between the American Gaming Association and the Washington Football Team will involve sponsored content on the team’s website. Furthermore, there will be 20-second spots featured on WFT radio and television broadcasts.

The season-long campaign begins with the WFT’s preseason home game against the Cincinnati Bengals on Aug. 20.

In late 2019, the AGA, a national trade group advocating for the US casino industry, initiated the Have a Game Plan campaign. At present, the campaign has garnered partnerships with the following entities:

Casey Clark, the Senior Vice President of AGA, emphasized in the WFT announcement that ensuring the success of sports betting is a collective responsibility.

According to Scott Shepherd, the Chief Partnership Officer of the Washington Football Team,

We are committed to making responsible gaming the cornerstone of our participation in the thrilling commercial market of legal sports betting, which is now allowed in our area. We take pride in collaborating with the AGA, the creator of the Have A Game Plan initiative, and in taking the lead by educating football fans on how to enjoy the game in a captivating and responsible manner.

WFT sports betting in the DMV

Football fans in Washington will soon have an unprecedented opportunity to place bets on their beloved team.

Legal sports betting is becoming more widespread in the US, including in the DMV region, as the NFL prepares for its regular-season kick-off on Sept. 9, 2021.

After WFT’s brief 2021 playoffs participation, sports betting in Virginia commenced on January 21. Presently, bettors in Virginia have access to eight exclusive sportsbooks for their betting needs.

Naturally, there is also the option for them to explore Washington, DC, which offers a growing number of opportunities for sports betting.

Maryland sports betting is expected to kick off soon, possibly during the 2021 season, with an abundance of operators ready to participate.

Instead of listing the markets where sports betting is legal and active, it is more convenient to identify the few nearby markets where it is not yet legal or underway.

The partnership between WFT and AGA is well-timed, considering the multitude of wagering options available.
