Pick 4 online

Pick 4 online has been introduced as a new addition to the Virginia Lottery’s digital lotto options.

Tickets for the popular game and longstanding fixture of the VA Lotto are now available for purchase by online players.

Both the Pick 4 and Pick 4 online offer two draws per day. The drawing process remains identical, regardless of whether you purchase your tickets online or from a physical retail store.

The Virginia Lottery has brought together two of its beloved games, Pick 3 and Pick 4, with this recent addition to its online platform.

Play Pick 4 online via Virginia Lottery

In July, Pick 3 was introduced on the VA Lottery’s online platform. Lottery authorities informed PlayVirginia that they anticipated including Pick 4 in online sales in the near future.

In just under three months, the highly anticipated option to buy tickets online for the effortlessly straightforward Pick 4 game has finally arrived.

To play Pick 4, you simply choose a four-digit number for the upcoming draw. Your objective is to correctly match all four balls, numbered from 0 to 9, that are selected.

With 10,000 potential number combinations (ranging from 0000 to 9999), the likelihood of winning on a straight ticket with Pick 4 is merely 1 in 10,000 (equivalent to 0.0001%). Nevertheless, there exists a “house edge” of 50%, meaning that if you do manage to win, you will receive $5,000 for a $1 ticket, while the lottery retains the remaining half.

It is possible to play Pick 4 for either $1 or 50 cents. By choosing the latter, a successful 50-cent Pick 4 ticket would result in a $2,500 jackpot.

However, Pick 4 can be played in multiple ways. The VA Lottery provides various options, each with their own odds, to play the game.

To buy tickets for the daily draw games, visit the VA Lotto website. The daytime draw for Pick 3 and Pick 4 takes place at 1:59 p.m., while the nighttime draw occurs at 11 p.m.

What about the Fireball?

In May, the Virginia Lottery implemented the “Fireball” feature for Pick 3 and Pick 4 games. Presently, the Fireball option cannot be accessed online. Nevertheless, when announcing the Pick 4 online feature, officials dropped a subtle clue, advising players to anticipate forthcoming updates.

By purchasing the optional Fireball add-on, available exclusively at retail lotto outlets, the cost of Pick 3 and Pick 4 tickets doubles.

Thanks to Fireball, players have the ability to replace a regular number, resulting in the creation of new combinations. This allows for multiple wins on a single play.

However, this flexibility does come with a trade-off for your Fireball prize, resulting in a reduced jackpot. As an illustration, if you were to win the exact match Pick 4 jackpot, it would pay $1,500 instead of the usual $5,000.

It is important to note that the Fireball payouts are separate from the regular Pick 3 and Pick 4 prizes, allowing you to win in multiple ways.

Check out this informative video from the VA Lottery that explains how the game operates!

If you choose to give Pick 4 a try, you’ll have plenty of company. Despite the wide range of games available from the VA Lottery, such as the highly sought-after scratch-off tickets, the daily draw games (Pick 3, Pick 4, and Cash 5) make up approximately one-third of total sales.
