Total online purchases in 2021 surpassed $1.1 billion, amounting to $1,156,375,945 in sales, as reported by a Virginia Lottery spokesperson to PlayVirginia. Additionally, VA Lottery online players achieved wins totaling $975,581,469 throughout the year. This indicates that players retained approximately 84.4% of their wagered funds.
In order to achieve those impressive figures, a total of 255,300 players participated online and collectively secured 555,482,266 distinct victories. However, it is important to note that the majority of these wins were relatively small, with numerous amounts being less than a dollar.
