When live horse racing returns to Colonial Downs racetrack on Monday, a jam-packed schedule of promotional giveaways awaits.

Located in New Kent, just outside of Richmond, Virginia’s capital, the track is highly favored by horse betting enthusiasts.

Starting from Monday, July 19, the track commences its third season after reintroducing Thoroughbred horse racing in 2019.

Furthermore, Colonial Downs officials, who are also in charge of operating a Rosie’s Gaming Emporium historical horse racing (HHR) establishment on the premises, have introduced exciting promotional giveaways for five specific dates.

The 2021 Colonial Downs season presents 25 stakes races, with each race date boasting a purse of $500,000, enticing horses to compete for their portion of the prize money.

Colonial Downs promotional giveaways

Colonial Downs had to abruptly end its 2020 season, which was already shortened, due to a surge of positive COVID-19 test results.

Colonial Downs officials have introduced an extensive promotional giveaway schedule in an effort to boost its attendance for 2021.

The giveaway item will be given to the first 1,000 fans entering the gates each day.

They include:

  • On Monday, July 19th, there will be a giveaway of Adult Secretariat T-shirts.
  • On Tuesday, July 27, there will be a cooler giveaway event at Colonial Downs.
  • On Tuesday, August 3rd, Colonial Downs will be hosting a hat giveaway event.
  • On Wednesday, August 18th, there will be a giveaway for Colonial Down tote bags.
  • On Tuesday, August 24th, there will be a giveaway of Kids Colonial Downs T-shirts.

As the Virginia vaccination rate continues to rise steadily, and life gradually returns to its pre-pandemic state, horseplayers are eagerly prepared.

According to John Marshall, the executive vice president of operations at Colonial Downs Group,

After putting in immense effort to prepare for the return of fans, we are proud to say that our team is fully prepared to deliver exceptional entertainment in Virginia. We eagerly await the return of numerous individuals to come and witness what we have in store. Rest assured, we guarantee that their experience will be nothing short of satisfying and enjoyable.
