Despite not yet being open, HeadWaters Resort & Casino is already demonstrating itself as a commendable neighbor.
The forthcoming Norfolk casino in Virginia has taken the initiative to support Teacher Appreciation Night, collaborating with the Norfolk Tides as its sponsor.
HeadWaters Resort and the Tides made an announcement earlier this year about their own partnership.
Teacher Appreciation Night is scheduled for Friday, October 1st, at Harbor Park. The Tides, affiliated with the MLB’s Baltimore Orioles as their Triple-A minor league team, will be hosting the Durham Bulls at 7:05 p.m. This game marks the beginning of the final series of their 2021 regular season.

Progress continues on Norfolk casino
Prior to the formal legalization of casino gambling in Virginia, the City of Norfolk had already selected the Virginia-based Pamunkey Indian Tribe as its favored casino collaborator.
The $500 million project in Norfolk, located on a 13.4-acre area along the Elizabeth River, received an overwhelming vote of approval from the residents. This development will be the newest addition to the thriving Waterside District in Norfolk. The officials have set a target for the casino’s grand opening in 2025.
The latest update reveals further information about the highly anticipated groundbreaking and the future resort. The Pamunkeys have recently made an announcement regarding the selection of their construction management team.
- The W.M. Jordan Company, located in Newport News, Virginia.
- Suffolk (Boston, MA)
Pamunkey Chief Robert Gray, collaborating with Tennessee billionaire Jon Yarbrough on the venture, expressed:
This project will come to fruition with the help of the construction team, who will meticulously build it one nail at a time. Renowned for their exceptional workmanship, I have full faith in their ability to complete this project on time, yielding magnificent results. Moreover, their dedication to ensuring opportunities for small and minority-owned subcontractors and suppliers to actively participate in this endeavor is just as imperative as their commitment to delivering top-notch work.
HeadWaters Resort is set to be situated in close proximity to Harbor Park, a stadium with a seating capacity of 12,000, which was established in 1993. Both of these establishments will serve as prominent features of the Waterside District, an area in Norfolk renowned for its wide array of enticing dining and entertainment choices.
