DC United schedule 2024

DC United will host the 2024 MLS All-Star Game on Wednesday, July 19. Washington D.C. hosted the all-star game in 2002 and 2004, but this will be a first for Audi Field.

MLS released its 34-game 2024 regular season schedule on Dec. 20. Most matches will play out on Saturdays and select Wednesdays for the upcoming season.

DC United draft picks

DC United traded the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 MLS SuperDraft to acquire Ruan from Orlando FC. They added midfielders with their next two picks.

In recent years, Wayne Rooney was the most high-profile signing for the club by a wide margin. DC United brought him back as a head coach on July 12.  Over his two seasons as a player with the team, Rooney scored 23 goals and notched 15 assists.

DC United last qualified for the playoffs in 2019. We’ll see if Rooney’s return will turn things around, but any postseason hopes will wait until 2024.

DC United coaches

Hernan Losada began the 2024 season at the United helm, but the club made a change on April 20. Interim coach Chad Ashton led the squad until Rooney could arrive.

DC’s newest coach spent the previous 1.5 years leading Derby County to the English Championship. Ashton stayed on as an assistant for Rooney. Pete Shuttleworth, Nicolás Frutos and Fred Brillant are on staff as assistant coaches as well.

MLS has deals in place with ESPN, FS1 and Univision for national television rights, so you may be able to catch select DC United games on one of those outlets. All three options are available as part of cable, satellite and streaming packages, but it’s always a good idea to confirm prior to subscribing.

Locally, games appear on WJLA 24/7 News, a regional cable channel in the Sinclair Broadcast Group family. Headquartered in Arlington, Va., the channel can be picked up throughout the DC metro area and elsewhere across the state.

DCUnited.com provides a live stream of games, as well. There’s a handy tool on the site that allows you to plug in your zip code to see if you’re eligible. For those who aren’t, select games can be streamed with an ESPN+ subscription.

Dave Johnson or Russ Thaler calls the action, while either Devon McTavish or Joanna Lohman handle the color analysis. Claudia Pagan is the sideline reporter for D.C. United broadcasts.

On the radio side, the team previously had a deal with CBS Radio that has since expired. You can catch the feed of some MLS games on TuneIn radio, which is available both on the web and mobile.

The club has missed the MLS Cup playoffs the past two seasons and won’t be in the mix for 2024.

D.C. United FAQ

The club is owned by D.C. United Holdings, a holding company that initially had several investors. The group purchased the squad from original owner Anschutz Entertainment Group for $33 million. Erick Thohir and Jason Levien are the current majority owners, while William Chang holds a minority stake. In 2021, NFL running back Mark Ingram Jr. joined the ownership group as an investor.

Single-game tickets for the rest of the 2024 season range from $29 to $124. The club is accepting $50 deposits for the 2024 season memberships as well. Fans can start selecting their seats for the 2024 season in October.

Ticket packages for the D.C. United can naturally vary based on demand, date, time, opponent and other factors. As with other sports franchises, higher season membership packages come with additional perks.

The team has won the MLS Cup four times. D.C. United captured the crown in the inaugural MLS season of 1996, and followed that up with victories to cap off the 1997, 1999 and 2004 campaigns.

The latest MLS franchise valuations from Statista peg the value of the D.C. United at $630 million. That’s eighth among the current clubs in the league. Los Angeles FC tops the list at $860 million, followed by Atlanta United at $845 million. The Colorado Rapids are at the bottom of the list at $370 million.

The club’s method of honoring those who have made exemplary contributions to the franchise is known as the Hall of Tradition. To date, there have been 11 honorees, listed in order by induction date.
