Preparations for the 2021 season will commence for the Washington Football Team at the Bon Secours Training Center in Richmond.
On Friday, officials from the team made an announcement regarding their intentions to hold this season’s NFL training camp in the Virginia capital.
With the COVID-19 pandemic significantly impacting the 2020 NFL season, uncertain football enthusiasts were apprehensive about what this year had in store.
However, local supporters of WTF have a reason to rejoice as Washington will not only hold their camp at Bon Secours Training Center but also allow fans to participate in the festivities.

Fortunately, the team based in Virginia will be coming back to Richmond for their training camp. However, the downside is that the camp will be shorter this time, lasting only five days from July 27-31. Following this, the team will then proceed to their home base in Ashburn, Virginia, to complete their final preparations before the start of preseason games.
Nonetheless, this marks a significant stride towards normalcy for football enthusiasts who witnessed the 2020 season play out without the presence of spectators.
The WFT officials have not yet finalized a specific schedule or implemented ticket procedures for the training camp. Nonetheless, they urge individuals to visit a designated training camp hub to stay updated with the latest news. Eventually, free fan passes will be made accessible.
Furthermore, the WFT training camp will not only consist of team practices, but also include a variety of “unique fan experiences and special themed days” organized by team executives during their stay in town.
In 2013, the Bon Secours Training Center was constructed by the City of Richmond to cater to the WFT. Although an eight-year agreement concluded last season, the training camp was unable to be utilized due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, a new agreement has been reached for 2021, allowing the training camp to welcome fans at full capacity.
Jason Wright, president of the Washington Football Team, expressed
“We are delighted as a whole organization to be coming back to Richmond for Training Camp this year. Our previous experiences in Richmond have been prosperous both on and off the field, marked by the strong bond we have formed with our fans and the positive contributions we have made to the community, benefiting not only Richmond but also the surrounding areas. We eagerly anticipate deepening our ties with the City of Richmond as we return and commence our 2021 season.”
Washington Football Team odds for 2021
After clinching the NFC East title in 2020, Washington recently concluded a regular season with a 7-9 record. Although they took advantage of a less competitive year in the division, their journey in the NFL Playoffs was cut short with a swift first-round elimination.
As we enter 2021, the team’s prospects continue to be modest. As we mentioned earlier, BetMGM in Virginia reveals that Washington’s chances of winning the 2021 Super Bowl stand at 66-1, making them a significant underdog with odds of +6600.
