After his first victorious race, Brandon Brown received an outpouring of messages from various individuals, with NASCAR bettors seemingly among the most enthusiastic of them all.

Earlier this month, Brown, a fighter sponsored by PlayVirginia and hailing from Virginia, secured his inaugural checkered flag.

The Sparks 300 race at the iconic Talladega Superspeedway in Alabama was won by Brown in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

The 28-year-old secured his inaugural victory in the Xfinity series after participating in 113 previous races. It goes without saying that his chances of winning the race were extremely slim.

NASCAR bettors who placed their money on Brown for the race undoubtedly benefited from the race being cut short due to darkness. These delighted race fans wasted no time in expressing their gratitude.

Some very happy NASCAR bettors

Brown’s post-race celebration was filled with emotions, although not solely because of race-related issues.

The scene was quite remarkable.

However, it wasn’t just the race fans, team members, and sponsors who were celebrating.

Brown expressed his delight at the numerous congratulatory texts and calls he received, but what pleasantly surprised him the most were the messages from people who had placed bets on him as a 40-1 underdog in the Oct. 3 race and ended up winning big. Brown hopes that these individuals will continue to place their bets on him for the upcoming race at Martinsville, so he can once again assist them in reaping significant rewards.

Just three weeks before, Brown had another impressive performance. During the Go Bowling 250 at Richmond Raceway, PlayVirginia served as one of Brown’s associate sponsors. Our logo was prominently displayed on his quarter panels and we also released race-week content to engage with fans. Additionally, we collaborated with Caesars Sportsbook to offer a unique Odds Boost for this event.

Brown made a remarkable surge in the last laps of the race, propelling himself from 20th position to an impressive eighth place. Consequently, bettors were able to reap the rewards, as they had placed their bets on Brown to finish in the top 10 and received a lucrative +900 Odds Boost.

As Brown said:

Wow, what a blast! I’m thrilled that I managed to secure a top 10 finish for the team and all those who supported us through PlayVirginia and Caesars. In the final laps, our advantage was having fresher tires compared to the rest of the competitors. We made a strategic decision to stay out on older tires when most of the field opted for a pit stop with approximately 70 laps remaining. Our hope was that another caution would occur towards the end of the race, allowing us to come in for new tires and finish strong. And guess what? That’s exactly what happened! We effortlessly overtook cars that had exhausted their last set of tires earlier in the final stage, resulting in a fantastic top-10 finish at our home track.

More duties for a first-time NASCAR winner

Finishing in the top 10 at Richmond Raceway was pleasant, but the victory at Talladega? That was a game-changer.

Brown, hailing from Woodbridge and leading the Brandonbilt Motorsports team in Fredericksburg, continues to relish in the excitement of that glorious victory. Additionally, he remains devoted to fulfilling the unique responsibilities that are exclusively assigned to first-time winners.

Right after the victory, crew chief Doug Randolph promptly advised Brown to ensure he crossed the finish line to officially validate the race. Following that, the customary burnout took place. Brown mentioned that there were numerous interviews and an overwhelming number of photos taken in victory lane, making it feel like there were thousands of them. Even Austin Cindric, the frontrunner for this year’s Xfinity Series championship, made a special appearance to extend his congratulations to Brown. Subsequently, they proceeded to the media center for the post-race press conference.

And once the immediate post-race whirlwind settled?

Brown stated that he had the freedom to return to the race hauler and carry on with the celebration alongside his team.

In addition, he engaged in a lengthy FaceTime session with his main sponsor, The Original Larry’s Hard Lemonade, to finally commemorate the occasion. (Unsurprisingly, numerous other potential sponsors have also been expressing interest.)

Lionel Racing also reached out to Brown, following tradition, to produce a die-cast model of his victorious No. 68 Chevrolet.

Brown explained, “Winning your first race entails a multitude of tasks. To be honest, I’m currently in the process of sorting through everything to ensure that every aspect is properly addressed. We are in the midst of developing new merchandise, revising our partnership proposal decks, making adjustments to our social media profiles, and even filming a commercial.”

Riding momentum into Saturday’s Martinsville race?

Brown is still uncertain whether he has responded to all the congratulatory messages he received. However, the excitement and enthusiasm persist.

“It’s truly remarkable,” he exclaimed. “There are so many reasons why this moment is incredible. Ever since I was just a 9-year-old, my dad and I have been relentlessly pursuing the dream of winning a NASCAR race together. We’ve faced countless challenges right from the start, and now, to finally achieve our goal, it’s an indescribable feeling.”

After securing the eighth spot in Richmond and emerging victorious in Talladega, Brown’s performance has varied with subsequent placements of 22nd, 33rd, and 14th.

He is optimistic that the upcoming Dead on Tools 250 race at Martinsville Speedway (6 p.m., NBCSN) will provide him with the opportunity to bounce back before the season concludes next weekend.

Once again, PlayVirginia has become one of Brown’s associate sponsors for Saturday. Tomorrow, Brown will assist us in analyzing and providing a preview of the betting odds for the upcoming race this weekend.
